In my recent wandering online for some sources inspiration for a recent article I was writing, I came across a website chronicling an amazing woman’s mission for peace. Her name was Gene Knudsen Hoffman. Read more about her here: Compassionate Listening Project .
I found this poem from her book, From Inside the Glass Doors, and felt moved to share it here…
“In the midst of darkness
Light persists.”—
Mr. Gandhi said—
I’m beginning to
See the pinpoint
Of light after
Sometime in darkness—
And it all comes clear—
I don’t have to be a
sun
or a moon
or a planet
Not even a star—
Not even a flashlight!
Just can be—
That’s enough
And being—perhaps
I can shine enough
To light my own way
And perhaps—
For a moment—
Yours”
Have a beautiful day, Shari
