Tea Drinkers May Have Lower Skin Cancer Risk
NEW YORK (Reuters Health) – People who unwind with a cup of tea every night may have a lower risk of two common forms of skin cancer, new research suggests.
In a study of nearly 2,200 adults, researchers found that tea drinkers had a lower risk of developing squamous cell or basal cell carcinoma, the two most common forms of skin cancer.
Men and women who had ever been regular tea drinkers — having one or more cups a day — were 20 percent to 30 percent less likely to develop the cancers than those who didn’t drink tea.
The effect was even stronger among study participants who’d been tea fans for decades, as well as those who regularly had at least two cups a day, according to findings published in the Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology.

Simple Trick to Help You Memory by Moving Your Eyes
Moving your eyes horizontally, from side-to-side, for about 30 seconds may be all it takes to give your memory a boost, according to researchers from Manchester Metropolitan University in England.
After hearing a list of words, the study found that those who moved their eyes side-to-side for 30 seconds correctly remembered more than 10 percent more words, and falsely recognized about 15 percent fewer “lure” words, compared to those who moved their eyes up and down or did nothing.Why would moving your eyes influence your memory?
The researchers suspect it’s because the horizontal eye movements cause the two hemispheres of the brain to interact more, and communication between the left and right brain hemispheres is known to help us remember certain things.
The researchers aren’t sure whether the eye movements will help people in their daily lives … but it’s certainly worth a try the next time you’ve misplaced your keys or forgotten your grocery list at home!

The Four Agreements by Don Miguel Ruiz
This is another one of the books that made a major impression on me a few years ago. I suggest it to just about everyone I know since a lot of people struggle with the same issues I did. Here’s a quick preview of the four agreements:
1. Be Impeccable With Your Word
Speak with integrity. Say only what you mean. Avoid using the word to speak against yourself or to gossip about others. Use the power of your word in the direction of truth and love.
2. Don’t Take Anything Personally
Nothing others do is because of you. What others say and do is a projection of their own reality, their own dream. When you are immune to the opinions and actions of others, you won’t be the victim of needless suffering.
3. Don’t Make Assumptions
Find the courage to ask questions and to express what you really want. Communicate with others as clearly as you can to avoid misunderstandings, sadness and drama. With just this one agreement, you can completely transform your life.
4. Always Do Your Best
Your best is going to change from moment to moment; it will be different when you are healthy as opposed to sick. Under any circumstance, simply do your best, and you will avoid self-judgment, self-abuse and regret.
I think the most amazing thing about this book is even if you feel like you’ve got it all figured out, it will still teach you something. Ruiz has an amazing understanding of how we develop the beliefs that shape the reality we accept as truth and I have yet to meet anyone that doesn’t recognize one or two that surprised them and that they found it helpful to rewrite. The Secret…
Hi everyone, I realized today that I have not yet posted anything about The Secret. Many of you out there probably already know what it is, but for those who don’t or need a reminder…
We encourage our clients and friends to watch or read The Secret because it ties in so closely with our work. The “Secret” is that of the Law of Attraction. I was told about this law about 3 years ago while seeking a more intentional way to live my life and that’s exactly what I found. I say it is so closely related to our work because it teaches that our thoughts, emotions, and beliefs about the Universe around us shape the circumstances that we “happen” into in life. This is a pretty big concept which is why it’s great they created a DVD that so greatly explains it with really good visuals, but when you break it down it’s really about learning how to manifest what we want to manifest whenever we want to manifest it. I know, I know, it sounds too good to be true, but that is the first belief you have to break in order to get started – that this can’t possibly be true, that you can’t just think things into existence, it’s crazy talk! And yes, that’s true if you believe it is. One of my favorite quotes – and you all know I have a lot of favorites – is by Henry Ford. I found quite a few versions of this online so I hope I have the correct one (if not, comment and let me know

I don’t know if Henry Ford knew the Secret or not, but that’s not really the point of me posting this quote. My point is this: whatever you have set in your mind AS your reality IS your reality. So why not take a step in a very enlightening direction and make those thoughts and ideas work for you – stop telling yourself that you can’t or that xyz could never happen to you and start doing the opposite… believe that all things are possible, that something amazing is just around the corner. Stop being scared of facing disappointment and realize that even if that “something around the corner” isn’t around that very next corner, it will be around one of the few thousand you’ll turn in your life. It’s really a much happier and fulfilling way to live.

Non-toxic Home Care
There are many inexpensive, easy-to-use natural alternatives which can safely be used in place of commercial household products. Here is a list of common, environmentally safe products which can be used alone or in combination for a wealth of household applications.
* Baking Soda – cleans, deodorizes, softens water, scours.
* Soap – unscented soap in liquid form, flakes, powders or bars is biodegradable and will clean just about anything. Avoid using soaps which contain petroleum distillates.
* Borax – (sodium borate) cleans, deodorizes, disinfects, softens water, cleans wallpaper, painted walls and floors.
* White Vinegar – cuts grease, removes mildew, odors, some stains and wax build-up.
* Washing Soda – or SAL Soda is sodium carbonate decahydrate, a mineral. Washing soda cuts grease, removes stains, softens water, cleans wall, tiles, sinks and tubs. Use care, as washing soda can irritate mucous membranes. Do not use on aluminum.
* Isopropyl Alcohol – is an excellent disinfectant. (It has been suggested to replace this with ethanol or 100 proof alcohol in solution with water. There is some indication that isopropyl alcohol buildup contributes to illness in the body. See http://drclark.ch/g)
* Cornstarch – can be used to clean windows, polish furniture, shampoo carpets and rugs.
* Citrus Solvent – cleans paint brushes, oil and grease, some stains. (Citrus solvent may cause skin, lung or eye irritations for people with multiple chemical sensitivities.)
* Trisodium phosphate (TSP) – a mixture of soda ash and phosphoric acid. TSP is toxic if swallowed, but it can be used on many jobs, such as cleaning drains or removing old paint, that would normally require much more caustic and poisonous chemicals, and it does not create any fumes.
